Meet Courtney Dubin: Our New Chief Program Officer

We’re excited to welcome Courtney to our staff who will help further refine our operational best practices and scale our programs to reach as many grieving kids as possible. This includes building year-round programming to reach more grieving children and providing opportunities for support outside of camp.

Tell us more about what you will be doing at Experience Camps.

I feel lucky that I started just before camp season so I can experience the magic of camp in person! I know it will inform collaboration with the program team and help in determining how we apply best practices from existing to expansion in new locations. I’m excited to explore new potential programs, which could be through technology or strategic partnerships. There seems to be so much possibility!

Can you tell us a little about your experience in helping to scale programs for young people?

In my previous role at child-health and wellness nonprofit, GENYOUth, I created and ran the social entrepreneurship program “AdVenture Capital.” We started the program with five kids going to Omaha to meet Warren Buffett and went on to help over 700,000 students create and implement entrepreneurial health-focused projects in their school communities. Partnerships were central to the program’s growth and like Experience Camps, we grew with and for the kids.

What qualities will you draw upon to help Experience Camps grow?

I believe my experience leading technology-focused projects will play a big part in my approach. By nature I’m also a very curious person who loves reading and learning. That will surely help me identify new ways to support grieving children.

What made you choose Experience Camps?

I love working with and in service of young people, and it’s impossible not to be moved by the powerful and important mission! Also I connected with the people and the culture of the organization. Everyone’s here because they’re kind and passionate, and care so much about making an impact for the kids. I’m so excited to be a part of this tremendous team!
