Experience Camps is a nonprofit that transforms the lives of grieving children through summer camp programs and innovative, year-round initiatives. Each year, we work with a number of corporate partners to help provide their employees with the opportunity to volunteer in meaningful ways; better understand how to support colleagues experiencing grief; and develop new leadership skills.
According to a Deloitte Volunteer IMPACT Survey, “92% of surveyed corporate human resources executives agree that contributing business skills and expertise to a nonprofit can be an effective way to improve employees’ leadership and broader professional skill sets.”
What we can provide to your company:
- One-hour “Getting Grief-Smart” workshops for employees
- Grief Resources for employees and managers that help them talk about grief, have real conversations, and support the workforce more broadly
- Volunteer programs that allow employees to bond with one another while supporting grieving kids
- Meaningful ways to bond and give back as a group
Our partners include:
“Empowering my employees to give back has been an integral part in the success of our company. That’s why I advocate for everyone to volunteer at Experience Camps. I’ve watched my people come back with intangible skills that then elevate their professional skills. It’s incredible. Also, they just come back happier humans, in turn leading to happier employees.”
“There are amazing benefits to being able to talk about Experience Camps with current and potential customers and employees (I volunteer at their camp over the summer and so do many of my employees). It allows us to give a very meaningful answer to the question “how was your summer?” that goes far beyond BBQs and swimming pools. Also, particularly while recruiting potential millennial employees, I find it helpful to talk about the company’s support for volunteerism by using myself as an example.”
