CHIEF GRIEF OFFICER

Experience Camps is hiring a Chief Grief Officer to serve as the organization’s senior expert on childhood bereavement and a visionary leader shaping the next era of our mission. This full-time, remote-first executive role blends strategy, research, program design, and national thought leadership to ensure every Experience Camps offering — from summer camps to digital platforms — reflects the highest standards of care and the most current understanding of grief.
We’re looking for an experienced, systems-minded leader with advanced training (MPH, DrPH, PhD, or equivalent) and 10+ years in behavioral health, trauma-informed care, or related fields. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of grief, a strong research and evaluation background, and a passion for translating clinical insight into scalable, culturally responsive programming. Experience influencing national conversations, collaborating across sectors, and guiding organizational strategy is a strong plus.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the field of childhood bereavement, elevate Experience Camps as a national voice, and help build a world where grieving children feel seen, supported, and full of possibility.

Salary: $140,000–$150,000, plus comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS MANAGER

Experience Camps is hiring a Community Programs Manager to design and deliver programs that expand connection, access, and support for grieving children and families. This full-time, remote-first role leads the development and implementation of community events (“Meetups”) and supports new, innovative initiatives that extend grief support beyond the bunk and into the culture.We’re looking for a creative and collaborative program professional with 3–5 years of experience in community engagement, event design, or program management. The ideal candidate excels at building relationships, managing multiple projects, and turning bold ideas into impactful, inclusive experiences. Experience working with families, youth, or grief-related programs is a plus.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000, plus comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling

Experience Camps is hiring an Organizational Support Coordinator to provide essential administrative, fundraising, and program support across the organization. This full-time, hybrid role ensures that the daily details of our operations run smoothly — from managing office supplies and donor thank-you packages to supporting program logistics and data entry — helping our team stay focused on mission-critical goals.

We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional who enjoys supporting others and keeping things running efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, comfort with systems and spreadsheets, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to gain broad exposure to nonprofit operations, fundraising, and program management while growing their career in the social impact space.

Salary: $50,000–$55,000, plus comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling
Location: Hybrid, based in Westport, CT, with regular in-office collaboration and occasional travel to programs and events

As a camp nurse, your job is to support the whole program medically throughout the week of camp. As a nurse, you will:
Conduct health checks and administer medication.
Care for ill or injured campers.
Work alongside the full medical team.

Grief Specialist

Grief Specialists are a part of a team of masters-level mental-health professionals who facilitate connection and the development of coping skills. In a Grief Specialist role, you will:
• Facilitate bereavement activities and sharing circles at camp.
• Support campers’ behavioral and emotional needs.
• Attend a one-day orientation the day before camp begins.
• Participate in virtual and on-line training before camp.
