Gratitude/Appreciation/Wishing Stones
You can call them lots of different things, but the idea is a simple one: painting or drawing on stones with words of inspiration, remembrance, support, or just images that make you feel something. These have been popping up in neighborhoods all over lately and can be left for others to find, or gifted directly. It’s a great project to do together, or individually and fun for all ages.
Supplies: Rocks can be found in the great outdoors or purchased on-line. If you don’t have rocks, you can use paper cut into circles. Sharpie markers, paint pens, or regular paint will do. Elmer’s also has opaque paint markers
For conversation: Share about why you chose to write what you did on the rock, or who you will give it to and why. You can also choose different themes on different days. Maybe one day is appreciation, one is wishes, and one is in honor of someone.
