Overview & purpose
Memory flags can be created to help us reflect and remember people and places we care about. It might be to honor the person who has died or might be to remember your experience at camp. Flags can be about anything you’d like. Remember to use colors that represent how you are feeling.
Materials needed
- Something to make your flag with (this can be paper, fabric, a bag, or even newspaper)
- Anything to draw on the flag with (markers, pens, paint, etc.)
Activity
- Decide who or what your flag will be in honor of. What do you want the flag to say about that person or place?
- Are there colors that remind you of that person or place?
- Are there emotions that you feel when you think about that person or place?
- If you want, you can create as many flags as you’d like and string them together and hang them.
- When you are done, share with someone what your flags represent and who or what they are in honor of.
