Experience Camps for Grieving Children Names Alicia Kabir, ED of Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, a New Board Member

WESTPORT, CT, August 14, 2025 – Alicia Kabir, Executive Director of the national nonprofit Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, has been named to the Board of Directors of Experience Camps, an award-winning national nonprofit that transforms the lives of grieving children through summer camp programs and innovative, year-round initiatives. 

Alicia Kabir is a seasoned executive in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, leading high-performing teams to drive transformational outcomes, specifically supporting youth and families. As the Executive Director of Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, Alicia and her team obtain high-quality, age-appropriate items–such as clothing, shoes, and school supplies to kids–at no cost to children in low-income situations.

Prior to this job, Alicia was the Chief Executive Officer of Kesem, a national non-profit organization focused on supporting children whose parents have or had cancer. Under Alicia’s leadership, Kesem’s footprint expanded by over 40%, and launched new programs to serve more children and their families. 

Alicia looks forward to drawing on her experience providing programmatic support to help Experience Camps serve more kids and build out their fundraising opportunties.

“I hold a deep belief that all kids should have a great childhood and a successful future, “she says, “and I know it’s important to discuss grief with kids, and that opening these hard conversations now leads to a lifetime of building empathy for others.”

Alicia earned her Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer (RPI) and her Master of Science from Tufts University. She resides outside of Boston, MA with her husband, two boys, and dog. Alicia loves to travel and is always ready for the next road trip.
